The Spear is an LED aviation signal light gun for air traffic controllers. It is used from the control tower to pass light signals to aircraft, vehicles and ground personnel when radio communication is lost, unavailable or must stay silent.
It suits airports, airfields, heliports and helipads, offshore helicopter operations, air ambulance and police air units, and military flight lines. Aviation-specific signalling patterns make the standard red, green and white light signals quick and easy to send, and a two-position trigger gives either a steady or a flashing light signal.
